Eugene G. Eisner has been a leading advocate in the field of labor and employment law for over fifty years and is the senior partner of Eisner & Dictor, P.C. Throughout his long career, he has represented labor unions in organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, arbitration and litigation of labor disputes, involving matters in state and federal courts, including the precedent setting John Wiley & Sons, Inc. v. Livingston, 376 U.S. 543 (1964) case before the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Eisner also has represented a wide variety of professional employees, including university professors, primary and secondary school teachers, doctors, lawyers and musicians on an individual basis.

Mr. Eisner has been an adjunct professor of labor law in the program in Labor Studies at the City University of New York. He previously taught labor law at Hofstra University and at Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He has served for several years as a moot court judge in the Robert F. Wagner Labor Law Competition sponsored by New York Law School.

He has also been a guest speaker and panelist in forums and conferences sponsored by the American Arbitration Association, the National Labor Relations Board, the Industrial Relations Research Association, and the New York University Annual Conference on Labor. He is the author of numerous publications, including a law review article on the right of public employees to strike (as well as the right of lawyers in the private sector to do so), a chapter in a book on “Plant Closings and Relocations of Bargaining Unit Work”, and a paper on “Damages Under the Fair Labor Standards Act” at the NYU Annual Conference on Labor. Mr. Eisner is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial & Labor Relations and New York University’s Law School and is a charter member of the Advisory Board of the New York University Law School Center for Labor & Employment Law.

Eugene G. Eisner has received an AV rating by the American Bar Association for many years, is listed in the publication “The Best Lawyers in America”, as well as in New York’s “Best Labor Lawyers” by New York Magazine every year since 2009. He is currently listed in the “Super Lawyers” publication.
